The Blackwell Flock
Mr CJ, L &W Vernon-Miller – Shipston on Stour, Warks.

The Blackwell Flock is one of the largest in the country situated in the Cotswolds. This prize winning flock was started in 1989 and is run by the Vernon-Miller family. The farm consists of 120 acres plus another 25 acres of rented grass keep. Approximately 70 acres is in cereals and the rest is permanent grass or seeds.
About 20 shearling rams are sold each year practically all privately off the farm mainly to commercial breeders from all parts of the UK with a considerable number going to Wales and some to Scotland. We also supply our local abattoir with finished lambs and sell some of our lamb direct to local customers for the freezer.
A good selection of females of all ages are also available to pedigree breeders at any time of the year.
To keep fresh bloodlines A.I is used every third year using the best rams in France. Sheep from the Blackwell Flock can be seen at all the major agricultural shows during the summer.
